Grass Fed and Grass FINISHED Beef
Grass fed beef is quite popular these days but what does this actually mean? Grass fed beef comes from cows that are pasture-raised and eat natural grass, instead of grain at factory farms.
But even the term “grass-fed” can be misleading because many cows feed on grass freely when they’re young, but are ‘finished’ as grain-fed in a factory farm to get them to the proper weight and finish. At Hoffman Heritage and Heirlooms, we raise our cows to be grass-fed and grass-FINISHED. In short, our cows spend their entire lives roaming freely and eating grass so that we can provide you with meat that is:
higher in overall nutritional value (vitamins A, E, and other antioxidants)
higher in omega-3 fatty acids
significantly lower in levels of saturated fat
